This Policy explains what data the TearOff mobile app ("the app", "we") processes and how we protect it. By using TearOff you agree to this Policy.
In short
- You don't need an account to use the app — we don't collect your name, email or phone number unless you contact us.
- We process anonymous usage analytics, device technical data and (with your consent) a push notification token.
- We do not sell your data.
Data we process
- Device technical data: model, OS version, language, timezone, an anonymous app identifier — for compatibility and stability.
- Usage analytics and crash reports: which screens are opened, errors and crashes — to improve the product (via Firebase).
- Push token: only if you enable notifications — to send session-start reminders and alerts.
- Preferences: chosen language, favourite driver/team, spoiler-free mode — stored on your device.
- Purchase status: whether you hold a Premium subscription (no card data — payments go through the App Store / Google Play).
Why we use it
- To provide app features: timing, telemetry, calendar, commentator.
- To send notifications if you enabled them.
- To improve stability and usability and analyse anonymous statistics.
- To show ads (in the free version) and process Premium subscriptions.
Third parties
We rely on trusted services, each with its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase — analytics, crash reporting, push delivery.
- Google AdMob — ads in the free version. May use advertising identifiers; you can limit personalised ads in your device settings.
- App Store / Google Play — Premium subscription processing. We never see or store your payment details.
- F1 data providers (e.g. OpenF1) — we receive sports data from them. We do not send them your personal data.
Advertising
The free version contains ads. Ad networks may use device identifiers to serve and measure ads. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in iOS/Android settings. The Premium version is ad-free.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the age set by your local law) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Retention and security
We keep data only as long as needed for the stated purposes and apply technical and organisational safeguards (including HTTPS encryption in transit). Anonymous analytics may be retained in aggregate form.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and applicable law you have the right to access, correct, delete and restrict the processing of your data, and to object to processing. As we don't tie data to an identity without an account, please use the email below for requests.
International transfers
Our providers (Google and others) may process data on servers in other countries under appropriate safeguards.
Changes
We may update this Policy. The current version is always available on this page with the update date shown.
